What I Wore Wednesday: Two Minute Make-up for Busy Moms

Being a busy mom, putting on make-up is usually at the bottom of my priority list. I’ve developed a fast and {relatively} inexpensive make-up routine that helps me start each day with a fresh face.

And we all know that looking “put together” is a great way to set the tone for our day!

I’ve found that less is better when establishing a make-up routine. Not only does it save you money, but it saves you time!

My current make-up routine takes roughly 2 minutes to complete.

Two Minute Make-up for Busy Moms: Before and After

For those of you with make-up bags full of products, I know you’re probably wondering how you could manage to look “put together” in two minutes.

Well, let me show you the drastic difference that only two minutes can make!

Two Minute Make-up for Busy Moms: Step-by-Step

It really is as easy as 1-2-3-4 when it comes to a morning make-up routine!

Two Minute Make-up for Busy Moms: Step-by-Step

#1 – Apply Foundation: I use a pressed powder colored as closely as possible to my skin tone {this changes seasonally due to summertime tans} to create an even looking base.

#2 – Apply Blush: I use a light blush in a peach tone to highlight my cheekbones.

#3 – Apply Eyeliner: I apply black eyeliner in a fine line along my upper eyelids.

#4 – Apply Mascara: I apply a thicker coat of black mascara to my upper eyelids and a lighter coat to my lower eyelids

As you can see, the difference each product makes adds a level of dimension to your “put together” look. And all together, the process takes two minutes or less – perfect for busy moms!

You look great! I’m always on the look out for good mascara and eyeliner. I’ve tried the Cover Girl mascara (and I do like it), but never the eyeliner. Does it hold up pretty well?

I’ve been really happy w/ the eyeliner – I apply it in the morning, and it’s still strong when I go to bed at night. If I’m headed out for something “nice” in the evenings, I might touch it up a bit, but that’s a rare occasion.

I hardly ever where make-up. Has nothing to do with time. I could probably find the time. I just don’t like my husband asking me who I am trying to impress. I suppose if I did it everyday for a month or so he would stop that. But frankly the goats don’t care if I am wearing eye liner. ha!

For me, no makeup means I feel “blah” – so I try to at least put something on each morning {even if it’s just a bit of eyeliner to at least appear awake}. But that’s my way of having a “fresh face” to face the day. If it wasn’t part of my routine, I wouldn’t try to start adding it now!

I love tinted moisturizer – like from Aveda. It’s a time saver for me — since I’m ALWAYS moisturizing my face. If I use the tinted version, it’s basically a light layer of foundation. Add mascara, lip gloss, and I’m done.

In the summertime, if I know I’m going to be outside, I add a Jergens tinted moisturizer under the foundation to add a layer of SPF {since I refuse to wear sunscreen}. :)
