living intentionally by faith everyday

L.I.F.E by Ashley Pichea

We worship…

{John 4.23-24} “…a time is coming and has now come when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshippers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and His worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth.”

To worship is to ascribe worth to something. When we worship God, we ascribe worth to Him.
Worship is the adoration of God by those who know Him and respond to Him.

We are to worship God simply because He is worthy. We are to exalt God for who He is, not only for what He has done.

“God has a rightful claim to worship and is daily seeking those who acknowledge His claim, will bow the knee, and ascribe Him worth.” {Source}

Great post, Ashley! I just tweeted this verse out this morning. It is interesting to think about what we worship – because we can definitely give worth to other things BESIDES God, which is awful, but we do it more than we care to admit.

Today I worshiped God through music with my worship team at our rehearsal. It was a sweet time!

Today I placed my concerns in His hands. Again.

  • apichea

Keep leaving them with Him… He only controls the outcome. Praying for you, Friend!!

Music is definitely one of my favorite ways to worship God. I think it is perhaps the "easiest" way to worship, because of our complete focus on Him. I am trying to learn to worship in the daily things of life – through my ministry to my family and through the monotonous tasks of daily life. Do EVERYTHING to the glory of God!

What an awesome attitude to have. I'm trying to make that my life's theme and teach the concept to everyone I know to live a life of worship, not just on Sundays, and not just in prayer and music. Thanks again for the post.

I love spending time in worship. It is a reminder to me that God is in control.

"It is a reminder to me that God is in control."

I don't know that I've ever viewed worship as such, but I definitely agree!
I guess if I think about it, though, when I worship, I am submitting myself
to His authority, which translates to reminding myself of His sovereignty.
    What an awesome thought!

    Thanks for sharing, Alicia!

That picture is beautiful, and I'm in complete agreement the explanation you attached to it.

Thanks, Melissa! I think it's important to pause and think about *why* we
worship, and what worship really is all about.
