living intentionally by faith everyday

L.I.F.E by Ashley Pichea

This Message is for YOU

Have you every sat in church and when you heard the topic or title of the message thought…

“I’m so excited about this message – this is EXACTLY what my spouse {or child, friend, etc.} needed to hear today!”

…only to have the Holy Spirit poke you and ask, “What about you?”

Church

How many times do we find ourselves in such a situation?

We are often very aware of others’ shortcomings and need to hear a particular passage of Scripture, and yet we are so blind to our own needs and shortcomings. Or, maybe we aren’t really blind so much as we are in denial.

Can you think of a time recently when you were “excited” for someone to hear a particular message from the Word?

How did that message change YOU?

Stopping by from Thought Provoking Thursday and must say….LOVE THIS. YES! It happens to me all the time. And the Holy Spirit is faithful to turn the mirror towards me. Every time. Forget the slivers. I’ve got planks….
Thanks for encouraging me to think on this today!

This reminds me of a former pastor who talked about the L-shaped Amen. As in ‘Amen, Lord, preach it to THAT PERSON’ (from God, down and over there). Instead he would say, we need to have I-shaped Amens. God, straight down to us.

I love this illustration… thanks for giving me something to think about!

Oh yes.  Sometimes it’s so annoying.  But God is faithful.

      LOL… so thankful for HIS faithfulness! {Even when it hurts my pride!}

A lot of times when that happens to me, I end up being tested in that area and failing then God brings to remembrance the message and the thoughts I had of it “being for someone else.”

So thankful for His patience in the face of our disobedience! Thanks for stopping by and adding to the conversation, Debbie!

Occasionally I’m guilty of the “L-shaped Amen” that Janice describes. That being said, there are times when I hear a truth perfectly phrased, and I think of someone I can bless or encourage (not criticize) with those words.

Of course, sometimes I feel my own toes being stepped on, thank the Lord.

Yes! I love the reminder to encourage others with the truth, too… I strive to do this daily!
