I was super excited when I received an email for the newest non-fiction books available for review from Bethany House Publishers and saw a book on The Lord’s Prayer
on the list. As I mentioned yesterday, I have been learning a lot about prayer lately (seems to be what God is trying to teach me right now), and I’m getting ready to do some teaching on prayer this fall, so this book was just what I wanted to read!
I grabbed my highlighter and plopped in my recliner on Sunday afternoon (it came in the mail on Saturday) to start gleaning truths about prayer from the insight of R.T. Kendall. It wasn’t long and my book was very blue (the color of my highlighter). Soooo many great truths and revelations in this book – things I knew but hadn’t applied, new truths pulled from other passages, an in-depth look at each phrase and its purpose.
I devoured the book in less than a day (with multiple interruption). It was that good. This book definitely changed the way I view the Lord’s Prayer (and prayer in general), adding to some other truths that have recently altered my view of prayer as well. I can’t wait to re-read it as I prepare to teach on prayer this fall!
Thanks to Bethany House Publishers for providing a copy of this book for review.
