Last month, I realized that our current “hit-and-miss” style of homeschooling wasn’t working in terms of “getting school done,” so I decided we needed to make a few changes, including a re-organization of our approach to homeschool.
I’d started noticing that Jenny was a self-starter when it came to doing worksheets – if I had them available for her, she would do them without prompting. So, in an effort to have her do more worksheets {we’d fallen “behind schedule” in working through her workbooks} and to be sure we were doing an “even” amount of each subject, I decided to put together some worksheet folders, following the “workbox” method.
—
I grabbed five different folders – one for each day of the week – and labeled them.

—
I put worksheets for each day of the week in the various folders – including at least one worksheet for each subject in each folder.

I made sure Jenny knew where she could find the folders… and we started getting worksheets done!
—
**I found out after a few days that I’d pulled too many worksheets for each day – it was taking us about two days to get through each folder. But, in the weeks since switching to this method, we’ve been a lot better about doing worksheets!**
