we study the resurrection first and then i explain where the easter bunny came from :)

We teach the resurrection story and mention in passing that people who don’t know Jesus usually celebrate it in a different way.

we learn about the resurrection – all that Jesus did for us – why he did it & then we discuss how the easter bunny can really take the focus off of Jesus – we do easter baskets with a Christ theme and don’t believe in the bunny except that it is a cute symbol of spring – like other new baby animals

This would be the perfect addition to my little guy’s Easter basket!

We’re not quite there yet with my 2.5 year old. He doesn’t know about the Easter bunny yet, but I plan to treat it the same way my parents did. Focus on what Easter means and it’s crucial significance to our lives and faith then honestly tell him from the start that the Easter bunny is a fictional character, the candy comes from us.

Great question…we focus on Christ and the resurrection first and emphasis that.

I simply told them that the Easter Bunny didn’t die on the cross for them and myself but Jesus did :)

Our little guy is still too young to know about the Easter bunny. We are teaching him about Christ and the story of the resurrection. He will know that that’s what Easter is about. I think we’ll approach the bunny by explaining this is another way we celebrate the occasion. The bunny brings eggs. Eggs represent new birth and I will always remember how I learned about the Holy Trinity by learning about the 3 parts of an egg, all being one.

We also focus more on Christ’s resurrection, but we do Easter bunny spring time activities as well.
