Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids by Max Lucado

Grace for the Moment by Max Lucado

In 2000, Max Lucado released a daily devotional book entitled Grace for the Moment {Volume 1}: Inspirational Thoughts for Each Day of the Year that has blessed the hearts of millions. This month, Tommy Nelson is excited to announce the release of a kids’ version of Grace for the Moment!

About the Kids’ Version

From the Publisher:

Grace is: God’s best idea . . . More than we deserve … And greater than we imagine.  But how can you plant this important message of grace into the heart of your child?

Adapted from the bestselling devotional for adults (with more than 3 million copies sold), Grace for the Moment: 365 Devotions for Kids presents the message of God’s grace in a way that children can understand. It’s perfect for families to read together or for older readers to enjoy alone. Each day offers a devotion and scripture to encourage regular time with God. And because giving grace is just as important as receiving it, a “Growing in Grace” opportunity accompanies each devotion, offering practical and easy-to-do activities to help kids apply God’s grace—every day and every moment.

The Highlights

This kids’ version of Grace for the Moment is a great tool for helping to teach your children how to develop a habit of getting into the Bible on a daily basis.

Though this book is geared for kids aged 6-10, David and Jenny are both enjoying reading it together as a family – we’ve been reading each day’s devotion after breakfast before we start school for the day.

So far, we’ve been reading Proverbs together. I read from my bible or my husband reads it from his and then we read it from my daughter’s bible (different version). Out loud. Which is new to us since my husband became a Christian this past February.

We do devotions with 5 yr. old son at bedtime. Enjoy Sheila Walsh’s Mighty Warrior book for boys and the Jesus Storybook Bible.

We’ve used the storybook bible and read to the kids at night. We don’t have a specific “devotional” that we do. They are still young, but we love that for sharing the story of Jesus with them.

We unfortunately do not to devotions together. My husband is not a Christian, so that makes it hard.

All of us read a Bible story together before bedtime most nights. My husband and I both do other activities/discussions with the kids at other times of the day.

Periodically. I want to do daily family devotions, but scheduling is difficult. I do often read a Bible story to the younger ones before bed. Love everything of Max Lucado’s!
