living intentionally by faith everyday

Caffeinated Conversations {05.07.11}

I’m sorry for the lack of a vlog this morning. I really did try – I tried six times, in fact, and each time my camera malfunctioned. So, I ran out of time to vlog (since I’d have to edit, upload, post, etc.). Thus, our Caffeinated Conversations today are vlog-less.

As I mentioned in last week’s vlog, the 3in30 Challenge is no longer being hosted here on my blog. It has a home of its own!

Since the 3in30 Challenge is no longer taking up my Friday post, I decided that it was time for me to live “intentionally” and jump back into the challenge myself. So, I’ve chosen three goals for the month of May, and I’d love for you to help keep me accountable!

{#1} – #HelloMornings

The month of April reeked havoc on my morning routine as we were gone three out of the four weekends and the better half of one week. I’ve been struggling to get back into a routine, so I’m jumping back into the #Hellomornings challenge that is starting up on May 15th. {Join us!!} My goal is to be getting out of bed by 6am consistently by the end of the month and to start running again, at least 3x a week. I have a 5K (and possibly a mini-marathon if I’m in shape) I’d like to run in the fall, so I want to get myself in shape now!

{#2} – Kids’ Clothes

Since we live in a climate where we have three seasons of winter (cold) and one season of summer (hot), we’re all set on the long pants and long sleeves front. However, as the days have slowly been getting warmer, I’ve realized that my kids have no summer clothes. My goal is to have a summer wardrobe put together for both of them by the end of the month. This means getting up on Friday/Saturday mornings to hit garage sales and making treks to the store to fill in the gaps.

{#3} – Homeschool Curriculum

Though our homeschooling was a bit lax over the past year or so as I went back to school myself {P.S. I’m DONE as of this past Wednesday!!}, I’m planning to be back to formal homeschooling in the fall (if not sooner). My goal is to have a first grade curriculum picked out and ready to go by the end of this month, since May-September equals chaos at our house (more so than the other months). I’ve started doing some research, but I haven’t made any decisions. I need to break through my indecisiveness and get my curriculum together!

Will you help keep me accountable in realizing these three goals this month? I’d welcome any/all encouragement and accountability you’d like to offer… whether through Twitter, Facebook, email, comments, etc!

Keep on keeping on!!! Your current life sounds like how my life used to be. I’m familiar with your goals and the struggles you are facing in completing them. YOU CAN DO IT!! YOU WILL DO IT!

As a side note, I’m gonna check out Hello Mornings. I’ve seen it everywhere. Been wondering what it is. Your goal may be one of my goals soon. :-)

Thanks, Pam! I appreciate you being a cheerleader on my team! :)

I’m with you on the morning thing. I’m trying to get up at 530 every morning. We can keep each other accountable on that one. Also, I’m ordering my K curriculum this month. Eek!

How fun!! I’m so indecisive… if I accomplish this goal, it will be a miracle! :)

The #Hellomornings challenge sounds superb…but now is not the time for me! I’m soaking in every last second in bed because my first baby is coming in June and all bets are off then anyways :)

I don’t blame you a bit, Stephanie! Soak up all the sleep you can still get! :)

Hey Girl! I’m doing the #HelloMornings Challenge as well! I’ll be on at 5am – but who knows how coherent I will be with a 7 week old! :) Anyway, we can definitely hold each other accountable there! Blessings, sister!

A 7-wk old? You are a brave woman! lol… I’m not sure you could have got me up before 7 when mine were that young.

      I look forward to it!

Good luck with your awesome goals! I’ve been doing the Couch to 5K but not brave enough to enter a race. Maybe in the fall…who knows?

    • http://blog.ashleypichea.com Ashley Pichea

I ran CC for one-year in high school, and I only finished two races all season (partly due to injury and partly due to lack of discipline). Last summer I did really well with running 3+ miles at a time, so I’m excited to build back up to that. I’m hoping to run a 5K before this fall, but definitely BY this fall! Now I just need to remember that May has already started and get my rear in gear!

First of all, CONGRATS on being done with school! Great job!!

I signed up for Hello Mornings too!! And I REALLY need to get my rear back to homeschool {we’re going year round for the first time this year and had to take a hiatus as I didn’t like our history curriculum AT ALL}.

I just signed up for the first time this month ( http://brandycormier.com/?p=559 ). I’m really excited! I’ll help keep ya accountable on Twitter lol ;-)
