A Love Surrendered by Julie Lessman

A Love Surrendered

Book Three in the Winds of Change series from Julie Lessman, A Love Surrendered focuses on the last “single” member of the O’Connor family from Boston, MA, in the early 1930s. While continuing the ongoing stories of the entire O’Connor clan, A Love Surrendered centers in on the romance between Annie Kennedy and Steven O’Connor.

From the Publisher:

Orphaned in Iowa, Annie Kennedy moves to Boston to stay with her spinster aunt. She longs for romance to fill the void left by her parents’ death. But when she falls hard for Steven O’Connor, the man who broke an engagement to her sister, Annie is worried. Will he break her heart too when he discovers who she really is?

With heart-pounding romance, intense family drama, and emotional twists and turns, A Love Surrendered is everything Julie Lessman’s many fans have been waiting for.

My Thoughts:

I have enjoyed each of the books in the Winds of Change series by Julie Lessman, and A Love Surrendered did not disappoint.

Annie Kennedy is a young girl {not quite eighteen} whose life has been turned upside down by the deaths of her parents and her subsequent move from rural Iowa to Boston, MA. Trying to fit in with her older sister’s friends in Boston, Annie finds herself in situations beyond her experience and comfort level. Steven O’Connor comes alongside Annie as an older brother, helping her to find her footing in her new town.

A Love Surrendered is well-written with plenty of plot twists and turns to keep you turning the pages, eager to reach the conclusion. I especially appreciated Julie’s inclusion of subplots involving the other members of the O’Connor family, as I had read each of their books in the series.

I give A Love Surrendered five out of five stars.
