Can you believe we’ve reached the beginning of a new year?
We have a chance to start fresh – to redefine our focus and set our sights once again.
I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a new beginning – a fresh perspective. Though the last year was one of incredible growth in my life, it was a year full of chaos and clutter.
I’m ready to simplify.

And so, as I approach the first month of this new year, I want to set some goals that will me in this endeavor…
…goals that will help me walk towards a simpler life.
- Purge/File Papers: I have a shelf in my office storage closet that is stuffed beyond capacity with “important” papers – bills, receipts, kids’ projects to keep, etc. While some of the papers on this shelf are definitely ones that need to stick around, the majority of them have passed their “keep” date. I need to sort, file, and purge this pile.
- Pictures Sorted/Purged/Printed: I am horrible about printing pictures – or even sorting through them! I upload my SD cards to my computer regularly, but beyond that, my pictures are all sitting on my hard drive “collecting dust.” I want to go through them – thinning the number {deleting ones I’ll never print and/or use}, sorting them, relocating them to a DVD for safe keeping, and printingthem for scrapbooking and other photo albums.
- Praying for My Husband: I wrote the book, I started the challenge, but I still struggle to remember to pray for my husband each day. Throughout the month of January, I want to be focused on my prayer time for him. I want to utilize the 31 Days to Pray for Your Spouse Challenge in my own prayer life!
I’m so thankful for the community of fellow goal-setters at the 3in30 Challenge! Their encouragement and accountability spur me on to make my goals a reality!

And while we’re on the topic of goals and accountability…
…I’ve been working on my “verse of the week”…
…and I’m excited to say that I have it memorized!

My final musings this Monday morning include the beginning of a list I look forward to compiling each week…
…counting one thousand gifts.
#1 – The first of 12 installments of my “clean house once a month” Christmas present from my in-laws.

#2 – Ringing in the New Year with my husband and in-laws.

#3 – Two freshly painted kids’ bedrooms, courtesy of my father-in-law.

#4 – A pet that doesn’t live at our house, but can come to visit regularly.

#5 – An excuse {New Year’s Day} to enjoy some favorite snacks.
