Hiding Gods Truths

3in30 January Goals, John 1.12, 1000 Gifts, and More… Monday Musings {01.02.12}

Can you believe we’ve reached the beginning of a new year?

We have a chance to start fresh – to redefine our focus and set our sights once again.

I don’t know about you, but I’m ready for a new beginning – a fresh perspective. Though the last year was one of incredible growth in my life, it was a year full of chaos and clutter.

Cable Clutter

I’m ready to simplify.

And so, as I approach the first month of this new year, I want to set some goals that will me in this endeavor…

…goals that will help me walk towards a simpler life.

  1. Purge/File Papers: I have a shelf in my office storage closet that is stuffed beyond capacity with “important” papers – bills, receipts, kids’ projects to keep, etc. While some of the papers on this shelf are definitely ones that need to stick around, the majority of them have passed their “keep” date. I need to sort, file, and purge this pile.
  2. Pictures Sorted/Purged/Printed: I am horrible about printing pictures – or even sorting through them! I upload my SD cards to my computer regularly, but beyond that, my pictures are all sitting on my hard drive “collecting dust.” I want to go through them – thinning the number {deleting ones I’ll never print and/or use}, sorting them, relocating them to a DVD for safe keeping, and printingthem for scrapbooking and other photo albums.
  3. Praying for My Husband: I wrote the book, I started the challenge, but I still struggle to remember to pray for my husband each day. Throughout the month of January, I want to be focused on my prayer time for him. I want to utilize the 31 Days to Pray for Your Spouse Challenge in my own prayer life!

I’m so thankful for the community of fellow goal-setters at the 3in30 Challenge! Their encouragement and accountability spur me on to make my goals a reality!

And while we’re on the topic of goals and accountability…

…I’ve been working on my “verse of the week”…

…and I’m excited to say that I have it memorized!

Sounds like you have some very generous in-laws – love the once a month cleaning your house as a gift! And that dog is so adorable, it looks like a stuffed animal. Dogs that can come to visit but don’t stay – sounds like grandkids! Blessings to you as you start the new year.

I need to work on those first two goals myself. I wait and wait to go through papers and photos until WAY past the time to do something about them! Thanks for reminding me to get on them.

    • http://blog.ashleypichea.com Ashley Pichea

I used to be a LOT better about both… and then life happened and the piles grew and I got overwhelmed and just let it go. I’m looking forward to getting it back under control so I can keep up with it again!

      • http://twitter.com/jenniferajanes Jennifer Janes

I agree—the more overwhelmed I am, the easier it is to let it go until I just “can’t” make myself get started!
