living intentionally by faith everyday

L.I.F.E by Ashley Pichea

Are you TRUSTING Him?? // {1 Peter 5.7}

{1 Peter 5.7} “Casting all your anxiety on Him, because He cares for you.”

Are you anxious? Are you worried about something today? Give it to Jesus.

This verse tells us that we can trust Christ with our cares and concerns because He cares for us.

I’m also reminded of Philippians 4.6:

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.

When we worry and fret, we basically tell Jesus that we don’t trust Him. We become self-focused instead of focusing on Christ.

He is able and wants to take care of all of our needs and desires. He is sovereign and will work all things according to His glorious plan.

Let’s cast our cares at His feet today. Let’s trust Him with the details of our lives.

What will you trust Him with today?

Stars Collide, by Janice Thompson

Stars Collide: A Novel (Backstage Pass){From the Publisher}:
Her Future’s So Bright, She’s Gotta Wear Shades

Kat Jennings and Scott Murphy don’t just play two people who are secretly in love on a television sitcom – they are actually head over heels for each other in real life. When the lines between reality and TV land blur, they hope they can keep their relationship under wraps. But when Kat’s grandmothers, an eccentric star from Hollywood’s golden age, mistakes their on-screen wedding proposal for the real deal, things begin to spiral out of control. Will their secret be front-page news in the tabloids? And can their budding romance survive the onslaught of paparazzi, wedding preparations, and misinformed family members?

From the soundstage to a Beverly Hills mansion to the gleaming Pacific Ocean, Stars Collide takes you on a roller-coaster tour of Hollywood, packing both comedic punch and tender emotion.

{My Thoughts}:
This was a laugh-out-loud, fun-to-read book. I absolutely love Janice Thompson’s books! She writes in such an easy-to-read style that carries me straight to the end. The punch lines are funny, and the action is non-stop. Stars Collide had me from page one, and I enjoyed every minute of it!

I give this book five out of five stars!

{1 Peter 3.15} // We have HOPE!!

{1 Peter 3.15} “But sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence…”

We have hope! In a world filled with bad news and sin, we have hope!

Last night, I had both kids in my recliner with me as we were watching the CBS Evening News. Normally, I don’t really notice the gruesomeness of the news reports, but the reports on what is happening in Egypt were quite graphic. Jenny was paying more attention than normal and was asking questions about what was happening.

How do you explain political unrest turned violent to a four year old? How do you explain people walking around with blood on their faces? Is this the world in which our kids will grow up? One with continued violence and fighting?

It reminded me of a friend on Twitter earlier this week. She was catching up on the news, and it was all bad news. She asked if there was any good news

I sent her this incredible news:

“In this world, we will have troubles. But Christ has overcome the world!”

We have hope! This world is not our home – we are merely passing through. Our hope is for eternity in the presence of God!

{1 Peter 2.24}

{1 Peter 2.24} “And He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness; for by His wounds you were healed.”

Christ died for our sins. It is because of His incredible sacrifice that we can have a relationship with God.

He died, was buried, and He rose again three days later. He conquered sin and death, providing a means of salvation for all men.
